Year 5's Edale Adventure
Year 5, along with Mrs EB, Mr Horne, Mrs Hitchcock and Miss Hadley embarked on their highly anticipated annual trip to the Edale YHA in the wonderful Peak District last week.
The group spent three action-packed days taking part in various activities such as climbing, archery, abseiling, weaselling, problem solving, orienteering and a mammoth 6km night hike over Mam Tor. Year Five also had an opportunity to visit Thorpe Farm, the home of the Hope Valley Ice Cream Parlour. The children got to hear exactly how the ice cream was made, on-site, from the cows at the farm (as well as sampling the ice cream, obviously!). They also met two very friendly donkeys, two piglets and some adorable calves.
The group returned to school on Friday 10th May very tired and a little soggy but full of stories to tell. Despite the rain, we can safely say that a fabulous time was had by all and the children were wonderful to be with! The instructors commented on their excellent behaviour and manners, as well as their super teamwork and impeccable listening skills. Thank you to all the children for being such superstars, we were very proud of you all!
