Tuesday 5th February was Safer Internet Day, a day that promotes positive use of the Internet and technology across the world with the theme “Together for a better Internet”. All across Derby High School, teachers and children took part in a wide range of activities throughout the past week to discuss being responsible, respectful and creative when accessing the various applications that use the Internet.
In KS1 there were some great discussions and fun quizzes for the children to gain an insight into keeping themselves and those around them safe. Similarly in KS2, children had the opportunity to share their thoughts and continue the worldwide conversation on Internet Safety.
Year 6 especially took various themes of Internet Safety as part of their Computing Curriculum and, with the help of Mrs E-B and Mr Bentley, created some excellent Stop Motion videos using Lego to promote Safer Internet Day. A selection of these can be found on our YouTube channel here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ttRpYx5PTo.
