A huge array of talent was on show at our Junior Music Competition just ahead of the half term break. The Year 3 & 4 pupils performed in the morning session with pieces played on the piano, stringed instruments, brass, woodwind and voice (solos and ensembles). It is wonderful to see the confidence of the children, many of whom have not been playing their instruments for long.
The Year 5 & 6 pupils had their turn in the afternoon, making Mr Temple (Director of Music in the Senior School), our adjudicator’s job of judging incredibly difficult indeed!
The highlight of the day came with the House Choir performances. The Houses had been given the theme of weather and they certainly did not disappoint.
St Patrick were declared the winners of the House Choir competition and once all of the marks had been added up, St David were awarded the House Music Trophy with the Individual award going to Year 6’s Ella McIntosh. Well done to everyone who took part - what a fantastic day of music making!
