Invite to Concert
The acclaimed concert pianist Richard Meyrick is giving a virtuoso recital at Derby High School on Friday November 20th as part of his nationwide Pianoman series. Having started the project in 2004, Meyrick is in the process of making 190 visits to schools and colleges to inspire young pianists through recitals and master classes. Two students each from Derby High School, West Park School and Derby Moor Community Sports College will come under the microscope in an afternoon master class, attended by fellow students. The same evening, Richard Meyrick will give a public recital including works by Schubert, Chopin, Liszt and Debussy. Derby High School's Director of Music, Nic Robinson said "I was present at the launch of the Pianoman project five years ago, and my former school was the very first to host an event. I am delighted to welcome such an outstanding artist to play in our new recital room." The concert which starts at 7pm is open to the public; tickets on the door are £5 and £2 for students.
