U11 Kwik Cricket Festival

On a glorious afternoon, 8 Year 5 children represented Derby High Primary in our U11 Kwik Cricket festival on the sports field. Playing some really competitive matches against teams from Ockbrook School, Old Vicarage School and St Wystans School, the team soon got into their stride and took to the field.

Bowling first, they restricted Ockbrook to a score of around 215 and batted carefully to finish victorious by around 15 runs. A high scoring game against St Wystans saw the visitors hit a score over 240, but some big hitting from Adan and Zoe helped Derby High up to 260+ and win two out of two. They ended with a really tough match against Old Vicarage and came up around 40 runs short of the score needed but gave it everything.

An excellent display guided the team to second place and a great afternoon of sportsmanship and fun was had by all!
