Miss Wilson’s U5 PSHE group have been looking after their ‘egg babies’ for a week in a quest to realise the enormous responsibilities that new parents face when looking after a real baby.
Whilst the experience of looking after a real baby may be somewhat different to looking after an egg baby, the U5s did learn something about what it means to have responsibility for something else. Some egg babies sadly didn’t make it, having not been provided with adequate living conditions whilst others positively flourished. Some egg babies such as Eggbert, Benny and Gregg were taken out to the park, had stories read to them, socialised with other eggs and were tucked up warmly at bedtime.
