Derby High Primary welcomed Kevin Hurst from the charity ‘Kit Aid’ who collect football kit and equipment to send to disadvantaged countries across the world. We have been fortunate enough to have been given some great new sports kit from the PTA this year and so it seemed appropriate to donate our older and much loved kits to a worthy cause.
Kit Aid was formed in 1998 to provide children with the ability to enjoy the benefits that playing football can bring. They have sent over 465,000 item of kit to different countries, mainly within Africa and take kit from single shirts, to boots, shin pads and full team playing kit.
We have donated approximately 35 shirts, 20 shorts, 10 pairs of socks, 10 pairs of shin pads, 2 pairs of goalkeepers gloves and 3 pairs of boots and trainers. Thank you to the kind donations that were also sent in and will hopefully be put to good use by children within the month!
