World Challenge Training Expedition

The two World Challenge teams went to Ross-on-Wye last weekend for their Training Expedition ahead of their trip to Malawi next summer.

The weekend involved the girls receiving their tents, walking with full packs, cooking and camping but also meeting their Expedition Leaders, Cressida and Kev.

The girls also experienced a variety of roles that they will be required to employ on expedition. Over the weekend realistic scenarios, such as dealing with injuries on trek and general team work problems, were deciphered and discussed and it was fantastic to see each team really bond with one another ahead of their trip of a lifetime next July.

Four Derby High staff members who will be accompanying the students to Malawi also braved the cold conditions on the training expedition.  Many thanks to Miss Allum, Miss Riley, Mr Buckley and Miss Endersby!
