Some of our modern foreign languages Sixth Form students made good use of the school's Exeat last week with a whistlestop tour of Berlin ably lead by Miss Kelliher and Mrs Seymour.
After a four a.m. start on day one, our students managed to visit the Berlin Wall memorial, Berlin Wall museum / Checkpoint Charlie, the Brandenburg Gate, Potsdamer Platz and Alexanderplatz.
Day two was just as jam packed, starting with a visit to the government building then the Romani and Sinti Memorial. The students then visited the Holocaust memorial. There followed a trip round the East German museum and the Hamburger Bahnhof art gallery. They then travelled over to West Berlin to see the memorial church which was bombed in Second World War, taking in a prayer service in German.
It's fair to say that the students were able to take in a lot of what Berlin has to offer over the two days that they were there! Many thanks to Miss Kelliher (Head of MFL) and Mrs Seymour for arranging such a great trip!
