Where we treat each other with respect, tolerance and courtesy
The Junior School was purpose built in 1991 and has a warm, welcoming atmosphere, providing a safe environment for 7-11 year old boys and girls. We believe strongly in our co-educational ethos, offering equal opportunities to boys and girls in all the activities we provide. We are proud of the fact that some of the most successful players in our school football team have been girls and that we have had boys representing the school at netball. Our boys and girls grow up in an atmosphere of mutual respect and really enjoy the opportunity of taking part in activities which may not be on offer in a single-sex environment. They also learn to work as part of a team, whether it be in sport, drama or music or in the classroom.
The children's talents and educational needs are catered for by well-qualified, experienced and supportive teachers. The ethos of the school is to encourage a love of learning in a safe, caring and encouraging envirnoment. The children are taught to 'Treat others as you would wish to be treated' and as a result the children in our care develop into confident and thoughtful young people, well prepared for their secondary education. Our girls generally transfer to the Senior School, whilst our boys gain places at nearby independent schools, often with scholarships.
