Who are the Friends of Derby High School?

The Friends of Derby High School are members of the Derby High community who come together to organise events and social activities for the benefit of the Derby High School community.  Anybody connected to Derby High can be a member of the Friends - parents, grandparents, parents whose children have been at the school and now left, staff, former staff members, alumni and neighbours of the school.

Any member of the Friends is welcome to come along to meetings which are usually held in a pub locally.  The dates for our next meetings can be found by clicking here.

Harpreet Chana - Chair

Mum of one, Nayan - Wrens

I am a Pharmacist by background but I am currently working as a Consultant Project Manager for a national organisation. I hope to bring to the position of Chair both my organisational skills and keen enthusiasm as well as drawing on my own experiences attending a similar school in the West Midlands.

Jane Austin - Vice Chair

Mother of two, Megan, L6 and Jack (Y9 DGS).

I have been involved in varying degrees with the PTA since Megan joined the school in Year 7.

I am looking forward to working with the new committee and meeting parents at fundraising , social events and PTA meetings.

Caroline Euston – Secretary

Mum of two, Isobel, Y3 & George (Y8 DGS).

I work at Rolls-Royce co-ordinating a global team of engineers.  I have been a parent at DHS since Wrens.  Being the current PTA Chair of Derby Grammar School for the last 3 years, I wanted to help and contribute my experiences and knowledge with Derby High PTA and look forward to working with the newly formed committee.  I am at pick up on most days, so if you’d like to know more about how you could get involved in the PTA, please feel free to say hello.

Miles Butterworth - Treasurer

Father of two, Felicity, Y10, and Elliot (Y12 DGS)

I work at Rolls-Royce Marine as a Business Partner.  I’ve been on the Derby Grammar School PTA for several years, which has been very enjoyable. I look forward to contributing to DHS as well in the future.
