Welcome to the new academic year and congratulations to our A Level and GCSE candidates for their excellent results this summer!

Our 2014 U6 Leavers have chosen a huge variety of courses and destinations.  We have students heading off to Russell Group universities all over the country, including Cambridge, Liverpool, Bristol, Nottingham, Leeds, Sheffield and Birmingham.   Subjects being studied are many and varied: Medicine, Natural Sciences, Law, Veterinary Science, Accountancy, Pharmacy, Chemical Engineering, Mathematics, Business management, Marketing, Finance and Languages.

University study is not everyone’s chosen plan, however, and we are delighted that two girls have gained alternative prestigious placements.    One is starting a higher level apprenticeship in Project Management at Derby’s premier employer, Rolls Royce.   Another student has secured employment with Laing O’Rourke leading to the completion of a BSc in Construction Management through a combination of work placement in Dartford and study at Nottingham Trent University.

We wish all of our 2014 Leavers the very best for their future studies and careers and hope that they will keep in touch to let us know how they are getting on.   We are enormously proud of all their achievements.

If you are considering a Derby High education for your child please do contact us to arrange a tour  - we are always proud to show visitors round our school. Tours at a time to suit you can be arranged either through Karen Tudor (Primary Admissions) or Sue Callaghan (Senior & Sixth Form Admissions) who can be contacted on 01332 514267.

Education and memories to last a lifetime.
