Welcome to the Derby High School website. We hope it will give you a flavour of what we do but also, and perhaps more importantly, how we do it. If you are reading this page you may well be in the process of making that critical decision of choosing the best school for your child.

Not all schools are the same, though the best schools share many good features, and each has its own distinct ethos. At Derby High School we are proud of our reputation for academic excellence and we enjoy working in buildings which are well maintained, attractive and equipped to offer our children the best possible education. Most importantly, however, we value the genuine sense of community we foster in the school, where pupils of all abilities, talents and backgrounds work and play harmoniously together, enjoying a wide range of opportunities which gives each of them the chance to discover and develop their individual talents.
